Five WCh medalists lead Bjerringbro´s clinching mission to ChambéryJust two weeks ago they won the silver medals with the national team at the World Championships in Spain, now they are to lead their club team in a different campaign. Five participants of the tournament in Spain should be the flagships of Bjerringbro Silkeborg in their mission to clinch their first ever Last 16 berth already on Sunday in Chambéry, France. Only four trainings and one game is all that the Danish team has gone through together since they last played a match. Current number two in the Danish league had no less than five players on the Danish national team that won silver medals in Spain - Rasmus Lauge, Casper U. Mortensen, Henrik Toft Hansen, Kasper Nielsen and Jannick Green all played in the nightmare final against hosts (19:35). Coach of Bjerringbro-Silkeborg Carsten Albrektsen knows that it is a big challenge to get his group back together after a long break.
“The players came back in very different conditions. Some played a lot and some did not. Some came back with a lot of confidence and some needs some building up. Those are the conditions and we know that always when they leave. We need to focus on other aspects of our game and we will do that,” said Albrektsen.
