Cuadrado returns to Randers
Spanish international Veronica Cuadrado is returning to Randers HK this summer after a season with Danish league rivals KIF Vejen.
The 33-year-old line player left Randers last year, as she and the club had failed to reach an agreement about an extension of her contract.
This time, however, the parties have been able to reach an understanding, and Cuadrado has signed a two year contract with the ruling Danish champions.
“Of course I am looking forward to returning to Randers where I still live, and I am also looking forward to contribute to continue to fine results the club has achieved.
”Even though it is an almost entirely new team compared to when I last played in Randers, I think it looks really interesting,” Veronica Cuadrado told the Randers HK´s official website.
The signing of Cuadrado comes only a few days after Randers announced the signing of another line player – the young Danish international, Kathrine Heindrahl, who is joining from another Danish top club, Team Tvis Holstebro.
Together, Cuadrado and Heindahl are going to fill the gap which is going to emerge on the line in Randers, when Swedish international Ulrika Ågren leaves for German Bundesliga club Buxtehude after this summer.
Ågren wants to stay close to her fiancée, Danish international Henrik Toft Hansen who will be joining HSV Hamburg this summer.
“It is fantastic that we have succeeded in getting Veronica to Randers again.
“We were really sad to lose her last year, and as the opportunity turned up, as Ulrika wanted to move to German handball, it did not take me long to get in touch with her again,” Randers HK´s head coach Jan Leslie said.
