Mirkulovski out for three weeks

HC Metalurg player, Filip Mirkulovski, will be out of action for three weeks due to an injury to his abductor muscle in his left leg.

Mirkulovski suffered the injury during the EHF EURO 2014 qualification game while playing for FYR Macedonia against Spain last Wednesday, which Spain won 24:17.

Mirkulovski left the court in the second half and was taken to hospital immediately.

"The first prognosis is that I would have to pause for three weeks. I'll need to follow the rehabilitation proces.

"There was no shock or contact with the opponent, I just felt pain when changing my direction of movement," said Mirkulovski.

This is a recurring injury for the centre back and he will face a race agianst time to be fit for the VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-final first leg on 21 April at home against KS Vive Targi Kielce.

"Even if I have pain, I will try to play this game. This is the most important duel for me," said Mirkulovski, who would be a big loss for the Macedonian club in their first appearance at this stage of the competition.
