Big screen Twitter messages during matches

The visitors inside the LANXESS arena have not only been treated to great handball matches but FanTV has been providing a great show for fans.

FanTV has featured interviews with players and coaches directly after the game, Men's EHF Champions League All Stars, footage and highlights of the day and much, much more.

“It is my third time at the VELUX EHF FINAL4,” said Markus Floth, one of three presenters. “Things are always hectic - there are always last minute jobs that need to be taken care of. However, from year to year the organisation has got better and more fluent.”

Each of the 20,000 spectators in the arena can become part of the show through the KissCam or DanceCam where they can kiss or ‘Gangnam Style’ their way onto the big screen.

“The crowd gets better from year to year,” Floth enthused. “I thought nothing can top last year’s support, but I was proven wrong yesterday (Saturday 1 June) during both matches.

"That is why I look forward to this event; the crowd gets better year by year and one of the highlights of my job is the interaction with the crowd.”

Involving the fans with the event and bringing them closer to the game is a key feature at VELUX EHF FINAL4 and in 2013 there has been a new innovation.

“Every year something new is introduced and this year we welcomed ‘tweets’ from fans watching the matches using their Twitter accounts,” said Floth referring to fans using the hashtag '#EHFFINAL4'.

“All the great messages are being displayed on the big screen in the arena and I was pleasantly surprised with the positive response of fans from all around Europe.

“All in all, if I was to give a general impression of this year’s finals, I would say that this is the best VELUX EHF FINAL4 so far.”
