Referee candidates courses to be held in Sweden and Norway

The European Handball Federation together with two national handball federations will organise two referee candidates courses in June and the first week of July respectively.

The 12th Referee Candidates Course takes place in Drammen, Norway, from 13 to 16 June 2013. It is organised in cooperation with the Norwegian Handball federation and is open to a maximum of four referee pairs.

The candidates will be appointed to referee matches at the Scandinavian Open Tournament for female players born in 1994.

Presenters include EHF lecturers Helmut Wille and Alexandru Acsinte, former top IHF and EHF referee, Svein Olav Oie, and Marcos Bestilleiro (competitions department - refereeing) from the EHF office in Vienna.

Candidates will take part in theoretical as well as practical exercises during the four-day course.

The 13th Referee Candidates Course will take in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 30 June to 5 July. It is organised in cooperation with the Swedish Handball Federation.

The candidates will be appointed to referee matches at the Men's 19 European Open.

The European Open is a junior national team tournament played alongside Partille Cup every year. The tournament alternates between women and men and this year it is open for men born in 1994 or later.

The final will be played at Scandinavium, the largest indoor arena in Gothenburg in front of a large crowd.

Presenters for the 13th Referee Candidates Course include former international top referee and EHF lecturers, Henrik La Cour Laursen and Felix Rätz, Zoltan Marczinka, author of the book 'Playing handball', and Marcos Bestilleiro (competitions department - refereeing) from the EHF office in Vienna
