Swedish-Spanish reinforcement for Elverum

Norwegian champions Elverum HH have got Swedish-Spanish reinforcement ahead of the qualification matches for the VELUX EHF Champions League.
The club has signed a one-year contract with 25-year-old centre back Nacor Medina Perez who is joining from German 2. Bundesliga club TV Emsdetten.

Nacor Medina Perez was born in Spain, but is now a Swedish citizen and has appeared 73 times in various Swedish junior national teams. On club level, he has also represented the Swedish clubs Borlänge HK and Redbergslids IK as well as Spanish Tenerife Tres de Mayo.

“We have financed part of the signing of Perez within our budget, while we have got help from an external sponsor for the rest. We are happy to have signed a player at an international level who can reinforce us in the coming season,” Elverum´s sports director Sigmund Høye told the club´s website.

In the qualification tournament for the VELUX EHF Champions League Group Phase, Elverum will face FC Porto Vitalis in Group 4 semi-final on 31 August. The other semi-final pairing in the group is HCM Constanta from Romania vs Dutch HV KRAS/Volendam. Only the winner of the group will proceed to the group phase.

In the previous season Elverum successfully sailed past three qualification rounds to reach the EHF Cup Group Phase. In Group C they finished last with three points for one victory and one draw.
