Manojlović returns to Löwen

Serbian international signs one year contract and shall replace injured country fellow Žarko Šešum

Manojlović returns to Löwen

The new one is a well-known face: Nikola Manojlović (31) returns to his former club Rhein Neckar Löwen. The Serbian international who had already played for the German VELUX EHF Champions League participant in 2009/10, signed a one year contract at the club, located in Mannheim, as Löwen announced on Monday.

Manojlović, silver medallist at the EHF EURO 2012 on home ground, arrives from Slovenian side Cimos Koper, where he played one season after signing at Gorenje Velenje in 2011. The defence specialist and back court shooter also played for Pfadi Winterthur (Switzerland) and former EHF Cup winner Frisch Auf Göppingen.

Manojlović is supposed to replace his country-fellow Žarko Šešum, who is out wit a torn crucial ligament – an injury which occurred in the EHF Cup semi-final at Nantes.

"Nikola knows everything and everybody at our club. He will fill in perfectly in the role of Žarko. And besides his sportive skills Nikola also fits perfectly with his character. It is great to have him back in the squad,” said Löwen manager Thorsten Storm.

And Manojlović is looking forward his new challenge with well-known faces: “It was a great time, playing for Löwen – and now it feels perfect to wear this yellow jersey and be back in the German league. I will give all to be successful with my old and new team.”
