Russia vs Denmark 35:33 after extra-time

The first semi-final proved to be a cracker, with hosts Denmark bidding to eliminate to unbeaten Russian side.

Backed by 1,800 fans in the Koldinhallerne, Denmark took a half-time lead of 13:12. However, the Russians were not to be denied as the teams exchanged goals throughout the 60 minutes and with a final score of 26:26, extra-time was required.

Despite the best efforts of the home team, who kept the score level after the first extra-time period, Russia gained a lead at the vital time and never looked back, winning 35:33 with Anna Vyakhireva leading the Russian attack with 11 goals.
