Troelsen: We are in insanely strong groupOne year drought without the European top flight is over for FC Midtjylland who are heading for the Women’s EHF Champions League this season and the recent 30:24 victory in the Danish Super Cup against Team Tvis Holstebro gives their players a boost of confidence ahead of the start of the new campaign. While Midtjylland are directly qualified for the Group Matches, Team Tvis Holstebro are going to play in the qualification tournament. One of Midtjylland´s key players and their best scorer at their previous appearance in the EHF Champions League (59 goals), Trine Troelsen makes no secret of the fact that the win indicates a promising shape of the Danish champions before the new season starts. Super Cup meant a confidence boost "That win meant a lot to us, as it means the first title to the club this season. Furthermore, it was a great boost to us that we managed to play at this relatively high level, considering the fact that we have only played one test match so far this season,” Danish international Trine Troelsen from FC Midtjylland told ehfCL.com. “The win definitely strengthens our self confidence ahead of the coming season and all the challenges it brings. "We are a team where the players function very well together, and for this season we only have to integrate one new player, Sting Jørgensen who falls into our play very well already. "We do not have to implement a hundred new systems, and we only have to integrate one new player in our attack as well as in our defence,” the 28-year-old backcourt player added.
Well-equipped for the challenge The two other teams in FC Midtjylland´s group are Montenegrin champions Budućnost and Polish champions MKS Lublin. “I think our team is very well-equipped for that challenge. I think we are in an insanely strong group, and of course we all realise that it will be difficult, even though we do not know the last team in the group yet. "However, we still have quite a lot of time to prepare and collect information on our opponents, and if we can continue to show the same stability we did last season and also in the Super Cup, and we can avoid injuries, I really think we can get far in the Champions League this season,” Trine Troelsen said.
