Four bidders apply for the Women’s EHF Final4

Three Hungarian and one Slovenian stakeholders vie for hosting the final tournament at the end of the 2013/14 season in the Women's EHF Champions League. The bidding process for the organisation of the event scheduled for 3/4 May 2014 was closed on 10 September.

The EHF and its marketing arm, EHF Marketing GmbH, released a bidding document in June welcoming bids from clubs, national federations, agencies, arenas or any other institutions interested in hosting the first edition of the final tournament in 2014 with all its potential to become the highlight of European women's club handball.

All three Hungarian applicants – SportConcept, Nexus Communications and the joint bid of Hungarofest and Hungarian Handball Federation propose to host the event in the Papp László Sportaréna in Budapest with a capacity of 9,100 spectators.

The last season’s semi-finalist of the Women’s EHF Champions League RK Krim Mercator submitted a bid with the Stožice Center in Ljubljana (12,500 seats) as the venue of the tournament.

The EHF and the EHF Marketing GmbH are currently studying all four concepts, whether the bids meet the organisational or economic standards necessary to carry out a top-class event.
