EHF launches second edition of its Master Coach and Licensing CourseFollowing the successful inaugural Open EHF Master Coach and Licensing Course in 2012, a second edition of the high-end educational seminar is scheduled to take place in 2014. The course is one of the foundations of the 'RINCK' Convention which was introduced in 2000 with the intention to mutually recognise the standards and certificates in the field of coaches' education in European handball. Having started with 6 nations, 33 EHF member federations have become a signatory nation to date. The 2014 Open EHF Master Coach & Licensing Course will consist of three stages and is accessible for all coaches of RINCK Convention signatory countries on level 2 or 3 (as confirmed by their respective member federation). Module 1 will take place in Silkeborg, Denmark from 12 to 18 January 2014. At this module specific handball topics will be presented by EHF Lecturers theoretically and practically. The list of confirmed lecturers for this module includes Peter Kovacs (Member of the EHF Methods Commission and professional handball coach), Marko Sibila (EHF Lecturer and Master Coach as well as Head of the Slovenian Handball Trainer Association), Branislav Pokrajac (EHF Lecturer and Master Coach as well as university professor in Belgrade), Paul Landure (EHF Lecturer and Master Coach as well as Professor of Sports at the French Ministry for Health & Sports), Johann Ingi Gunnarsson (sports psychologist and former German Bundesliga coach) and EHF Office staff members, Helmut Höritsch and Peter Fröschl. Module 2 is scheduled for June/July 2014. This part will focus on generic items such as the science of training, proprioception work and issues of psychology and pedagogy linked with coaching and training of teams. Module 3 is scheduled to take place during the 2014 Women's EHF EURO in Hungary and Croatia in December 2014. The main content of this concluding module will be the defending of the participants' theses.
Between the course's second and third part the participants will have to write a short thesis on a chosen subject and this thesis shall be presented and defended in the third part of the course. After this all 'Level 3' participants shall be awarded with the 'EHF Master Coach Diploma' and they will receive the highest EHF licence for coaches, the 'EHF PRO Licence'. 'Level 2' participants will receive the EHF Coaching Licence, thus they are being promoted individually to 'Level 3' of the RINCK Convention.
