For the second time in his career Danish international Anders Eggert was awarded "Player of the Year" in his home country.

All Danish players in the top two national leagues as well as Danish professional players in foreign clubs were eligible to cast their votes and the technically gifted SG Flensburg-Handewitt left wing received an impressive 46,21 per cent of all votes.

Goalkeeper and Danish team captain Niklas Landin (Rhein-Neckar Löwen) came second with 23 per cent while newcomer Henrik Møllgaard (Skjern Handbold) finished third.

"It is a fantastic feeling to be given this great honour by your own colleagues and I am both proud and humble to have received this title," 31-year-old Anders Eggert said.

Eggert was also awarded the “Player of the Year” title in the 2009/10 season.

His major successes with the Danish national team include EHF EURO champion 2012 as well as silver medals at the World Championship 2011 and 2013.
