Wilbek names Danish team for Golden League

Ulrik Wilbek, head coach of the Danish national team, has named a team of 21 players for a training camp as well as for the first edition of the Men's Golden League scheduled to take place at the end of October and early November 2013.

The training camp and the four-nation tournament during which the EHF EURO 2012 champions will face France, Croatia and Norway, also mark another step in the Danish preparation for the EHF EURO 2014 on home court in January.

After Wilbek had nominated 20 players on Monday, he announced on Tuesday night that Bo Spellerberg, the KIF Kolding left back, would also join the team.

On the same night KIF Kolding beat Skjern Handball in the Danish national league, a match in which Spellerberg scored 10 goals.

"Bo's already impressive form has been constantly rising. Therefore his nomination is both logical as well as fully deserved," said Wilbek.

The 34-year-old Spellerberg celebrated his debut in the national team in March 2000 and has played 212 matches, scoring 296 goals, since then.

The Danish national team will gather on 28 October. The Golden League tournament will go underway from 1 to 3 November in Oslo, Norway.
