The two premier club competitions of European handball have entered busy streets of Budapest for one month as the broadcasting company DIGI Sport launched a new campaign promoting both the VELUX EHF Champions League and the Women's EHF Champions League.

Trams of the two busiest lines in the Hungarian capital (4 and 6) advertise matches of MKB-MVM Veszprem and Györi Audi ETO KC in the European top flights. Tens of thousands of people take these lines on a daily basis with another hundred thousand seeing the advertisement as the trams travel through the city.

The project has been bolstered by well-known faces of the most popular players in Hungary – Laszlo Nagy and Anita Görbicz.

The tram campaign runs from 1 October until 1 November, besides the new printing campaign that has also been started by DIGI Sport.

"It is  already a tradition at DIGI to be one of the main sponsors of the Hungarian handball teams participating in the Champions League.

"This 2013/14 season is already the third, when we support the Győri Audi ETO club, and with MKB-MVM Veszprém - following last season's short term cooperation we agreed in a sponsorship for the entire season. As a result of this, DIGI is present on both clubs' jerseys,” Szilard Bevardi, the programming manager of DIGI Sport explained.

Beyond the sponsorship, DIGI Sport 1 and DIGI Sport 2 are handling the matches of EHF Champions League with Hungarian participation as high priority programmes. These matches are available live and in HD quality exclusively on DIGI Sport channels in Hungary.

"Our main goals with the campaign are to raise awareness for the EHF Champions League programmes on DIGI Sport and to strenghten the EHF Champions League and DIGI Sport brands with Hungary's currently most popular players,” Bevardi added.
