Official statement: HCM Baia Mare (ROU) vs Thüringer HC (GER)The Women’s EHF Champions League has entered a crucial phase as clubs compete for the final places in the Main Round. In Group A, following the 20:19 defeat of Thüringer HC to HCM Baia Mare on 10 November, the German side now need to win by four goals or more in their match against Hypo Niederöstereich (AUT) on Sunday to finish second, provided the reigning champions Györ defeat Baia Mare. Subsequent to the match between HCM Baia Mare and Thüringer HC, the EHF is aware of statements made in the media by the coach of Thüringer HC, Herbert Müller. Further media reports have stated that the club has made a protest to the EHF and that Mr Müller has provided the EHF with a sworn statement. At the time of publication of this statement, the EHF can confirm that no official correspondence or protest has been received from Thüringer HC, nor has an official statement been received from Mr Müller. According to the regulations of the Women’s EHF Champions League any protest relating to the result of the match is required to be made within 24 hours of the end of the match. The EHF is now examining the match on a technical level as well as the report of the match delegate. These documents will be passed to the Initiator of Proceedings to decide on further action.
