NEWS REPORT: Almost 1.5 million spectators flocked in the VELUX EHF FINAL4 home last year and this year is bound to be as successful as well.


LANXESS arena hit big numbers in 2013

The traditional venue of the VELUX EHF FINAL4, the LANXESS arena in Cologne recorded a very successful year in 2013 as in total nearly one and half million spectators visited 136 events.

The biggest multifunctional hall of Germany played host to all four editions of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 so far and the climax of the club season will remain in Cologne at least for another three years (until 2016).

In all four previous editions of the VELUX EHF FINAL4 the capacity crowd of almost 40,000 fans over two days watched the final matches of the season.

The handball mega event will return to the banks of Rhine this spring with the semi-finals scheduled for Saturday 31 May and the bronze medal match and the final for Sunday 1 June.

The VELUX EHF FINAL4 will be one of many highly prestigious events as another busy year awaits the LANXESS arena. Its calendar has been already almost fully booked with concerts, performances and other star-studded shows.
