Three more teams for main round ready

REVIEW: In Aarhus France survived the last second shot of Poland to qualify for the main round, Sweden and Croatia followed from Copenhagen

Three more teams for main round ready

After Spain, Iceland and Denmark qualified for the EHF EURO 2014 Main Round already on Tuesday, another three teams followed on Thursday as France made their way from Group C and Sweden and Croatia from Group D.

In the Copenhagen's Group D Montenegro and Belarus will fight for the remaining main round ticket to Group II in Aarhus after both teams remained at zero points after Day 4 matches.

Montenegro were defeated by Croatia (22:27) in the ex-Yugoslavian derby, while Belarus failed to surprise Sweden (22:30) despite the comeback of their star back player Siarhei Rutenka. The FC Barcelona player missed the first match against Croatia because of fever.

France are the only team in Group C in Aarhus, which will certainly stay in the NRGI Arena after Friday. But the second win (28:27) of the reigning Olympic champions was born only after a classic thriller against Poland, when first Igor Anic score the match winner and Cyrille Dumoulin saved the tying attempt of Michal Jurecki in the last second of the match.

Serbia could have also clinched a spot in the main round, but after a disappointing performance they were beaten 25:27 by inspired Russians.
