Danes clinch early semi-final berthWith a 28:24 win against Hungary on Monday night in Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning, Denmark secured their access to semi-finals even before their last main round match against Iceland (Wednesday), while Hungary lost their last hope of the semi-final with the defeat. The EHF EURO 2014 hosts also secured the top position in the group which means they will meet with the second team of Group II in the semi-final. Only after an unexpectedly thrilling 28:27 victory over Austrians the reigning world champions from Spain remained in the driving seat in the race for the second semi-final ticket of Group I, while their only remaining rival Iceland beat FYR Macedonia narrowly 27:25.
