Lazovic stays with Buducnost

NEWS REPORT: The good news keeps coming for the Montenegrin champions after a two-year contract extension for line player Suzana Lazovic

Lazovic stays with Buducnost

After securing the extension of Dragana Cvijic’s and Cristina Neagu’s contracts, Buducnost's management have completed another job, convincing line player Suzana Lazovic to sign a new two-year contract, keeping her at the club until 2016.

“For me it's easier to play now, because after a conversation with president Predrag Boskovic I am convinced of what I already knew - that the club believe in me, no matter of my long absence from the court,” Suzana Lazovic said.

Although she recently celebrated her 22nd birthday, Lazovic has been playing professional handball for a number of years. She made EHF Champions League debut on 1 November 2008 against Spanish side Elda, when she was only 16.

Lazovic has already participated at two EHF EURO Championships, once at the World Championship in Brazil and Olympic Games in London in 2012.

In 2012 she won the Women’s EHF Champions League with Budućnost, Olympic silver medal and won EHF EURO with Montenegro.

She also won a bronze medal at the 2010 Junior World Championship in South Korea.

Among all these successes, Lazovic had three very long breaks – in 2008 she had her first back surgery, and then two more in 2011.

Her playing time last year was hampered by a virus, but Lazovic feels that these problems are now history.

“I hope in the future I will justify expectations,” added the line player.

Lazovic was part of the team that convincingly beat Krim on Sunday and the win has given her and her team plenty of cause for optimism.

“We've proven that we can play fantastic defense. But regardless of that, there were certain errors in defence and attack.

“The win against Krim Mercator is already archived and we are focused on the next game against Larvik. With the support of our fans I believe we will also defeat Larvik,” concluded Lazovic.
