From the EHF EURO to the Challenge CupTo three of the players in the squad of Polish club KS “Azoty-Pulawy”, the coming weekend will mean a return to the European stage. Polish internationals Przemyslaw Krajewski and Michal Szyba as well as Jan Sobol from the Czech Republic were all active at the EHF EURO 2014 in Denmark last month.
This weekend, then, it will be the first leg of the Last 16 of the Challenge Cup, when the Polish team travel to Turkey to meet Nilüfer BK in the early afternoon Saturday. In the Pogon Zabrze – which was also the former name of the handball pride of the town – Górnik are receiving Romania's representative HC Odorhei Saturday in the early evening.
In the VELUX EHF Champions League, HC Motor Zaporozhye are in danger of not making it on from the group phase, but should that happen, the other team from the city, Zaporozhye, ZTR, are ready to make sure that the city remains represented in Europe.
