15 goals from Tamminen help Cocks to reach quarter-finalNo less than 15 times did 26-year-old left winger Teemu Tamminen hit the net, as Finnish Cocks confirmed their quarter-final berth in the Men's Challenge Cup through a 37:19 win at home against HC Spartak from Bulgaria.
Already in the first match in Varna last weekend had Cocks actually made things clear with a 31:20 win, and adding Saturday's 18 goal home win to this, Cocks are through with 68:39 on aggregate. Saturday, Sävehof won 35:21 and reduced the second leg Sunday to a formality which the Swedish hosts won 41:26.
“The lads did well”, was the brief comment from Sävehof coach Magnus Johansson in the club's website, as the aggregate win of 76:47 was a fact.
Having won 27:17 away against A. C. Doukas, ZTR Zaporozhye had made the return match against the Greek team a formality which the Ukainian side won 34:21, while Portuguese Aguas Santas-Milaneza added a 36:27 away win to their 41:22 home win against KH BESA Famiglia from Kosovo, and KS “Azoty-Pulawy” from Poland also cruised into the quarter-final with 39:31 win at home against Nilüfer BK on top of their 36:29 win in Turkey last weekend.
