Manea and Tolnai leave Krim Mercator

NEWS REPORT: Two Romanian internationals signed with immediate effect for CSM Bucharest and can have their debuts in the new team on Wednesday.

Manea and Tolnai leave Krim Mercator

Despite Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea ceased to exist in the summer of 2013, Romanian handball still continues to thrive.

Two new teams are starting to take shape in Romania and are already planning ahead for the new season.

Last week, HCM Baia Mare confirmed the transfers of Camilla Herrem from Byasen EH, Alexandra do Nascimento and Barbara Arenhart, both from Hypo Niederösterreich.

But Baia Mare will have serious competition in the Romanian league, as a new team has big ambitions.

CSM Bucharest has confirmed yesterday the signings of goalkeeper Talida Tolnai and line player Oana Manea from RK Krim Mercator Ljubljana. Both Romanian players make their comeback in the Romanian league after little over half a season played for the Slovenian champions.

Manea and Tolnai, who represented Romania at the Women’s Handball World Championships in December 2013, have ended their contracts effective immediately with RK Krim and will join the Bucharest side in the next days.

”Oana Manea and Talida Tolnai will play for CSM Bucharest for the next two years. They can make their debut on Wednesday, in the Romanian League match against Corona Brașov,” said Constantin Căliman, CSM Bucharest’s president, for Romanian media outlet ProSport.

Manea and Tolnai are not the first transfers CSM Bucharest made during the last few weeks. Right back Patricia Vizitiu also came from RK Krim Mercator Ljubljana, while ex-Oltchim left wing Iulia Curea has also inked a two-year deal with the Bucharest side.

The Bucharest side is currently placed 7th in the Romanian League, with 24 points from 18 matches. They are four points adrift from the 6th place, who qualifies for the championship’s play-off.
