Mari Molid joins LarvikLarvik recently lost their chance to qualify for the inaugural Women´s EHF FINAL4, but the Norwegian record champions have started to reinforce their team for next season, with qualification for Europe’s elite competition already secured. On Sunday, the club announced a three-year contract with Norwegian international Mari Molid, who will be joining from league rivals Levanger HK this summer. “I am looking forward to it and at the same time I am very excited,” the 23-year-old centre back and strong defender told the Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten. “Now I am going to do full time what I like most in the world – playing handball. I could not have found a better job,” she added. “Mari will be a great asset to our squad. She is young and has proven herself very well as a defender at international level. We need such types,” Larvik coach Ole Gustav Gjekstad told Larvik HK’s website. “Furthermore I think that Mari has greater potential at the other end of the court, than she has shown so far. It will be interesting to follow her further development,” Gjekstad added. Mari Molid has played 67 internationals for Norway and was part of the EHF EURO 2010 and 2011 World Championship winning teams. TEXT: Peter Bruun / cor |
