NEWS REPORT: Six pairs participate in the five-day seminar taking place alongside the IHF/EHF Women's Challenge Trophy


14th EHF Referee Candidates Course held in Larissa

At the same time as the IHF/EHF Women's Challenge Trophy, the 14th EHF Referee Candidates Course takes place in Larissa, Greece from 26 to 30 March.

Overall there are six pairs participating. Maike and Tanja Schilha arrive from Germany, Marta and Vanja Sa come from Portugal, Maria and Safia Bennani are Swedish and Olena Kaverina and Marina Slieptsova are from Ukraine.

These four pairs are the EHF Referee Candidates. They are joined by Greek sisters Christina and Sofia Ralli from the EHF Young Referees Programme and by Maria Ines Paolantoni and Maria Florencia Zanikian from Argentina who are part of the IHF Global Referee Training Programme.

All referees will be appointed to officiate games at the Women's Challenge Trophy. Further course subjects include sessions on - among others - expectations towards the referees, penalties and line player situations, refereeing from a coach's point of view and progressive punishment.

The lecturers nominated for this course are Mona Förström (FIN), Sotiris Migas (GRE) and Martin Tuma (CZE). They are joined by EHF Office staff member Marcos Bestilleiro.
