Domenech de Almeida to miss Ademar's farewell in EHF Cup

Reale Ademar Leon will play their last EHF Cup Group Phase match without Leonardo Domenech de Almeida as the EHF Court of Handball has reached a decision following disciplinary proceedings against the Brazilian line player of the Spanish club.

The EHF referees reported that the player intentionally put a large amount of handball glue in his hand to shake the hands of the EHF referees after the match of the 2013/14 EHF Cup: TSV Hannover-Burgdorf (GER) vs. Reale Ademar Leon (ESP) which took place on 16 March 2014.

The EHF Court of Handball finds such behaviour as unsportsmanlike and consequently sanctioned the player with a one-match suspension and a €500 fine based in particular on article B. 2 of the EHF List of Penalties and 12.2 of the EHF Legal Regulations.

An appeal to the EHF Court of Appeal shall not have any suspensive effects.
