Quarter-finals draw event live on ehfTV

NEWS REPORT: Vienna will host both the Men’s EHF Cup Quarter-finals and the VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-finals draws on Tuesday, 1 April. The whole event will be streamed live on ehfTV.com with an English commentary by Tom O Brannagain


Quarter-finals draw event live on ehfTV

Less than 16 hours after the final whistle of the second leg match Rhein Neckar Löwen vs Vive Targi Kielce the draw will determine quarter-finals pairings of the VELUX EHF Champions League. The joint event together with the Men’s EHF Cup Quarter-finals draw will start on Tuesday, 1 April 2014 at 12.15 hrs at the Gartenhotel Altmannsdorf 2 in Vienna.

Men’s EHF Cup Quarter-finals draw

Six teams will make it from the EHF Cup Group Phase to the quarter-finals. Füchse Berlin have clinched a direct ticket to the EHF Cup Finals as the hosts of the final tournament won the Group D.

Before the last round of the group phase (scheduled for the upcoming weekend) only one team has been confirmed for the next knock-out stage as the former EHF Champions League winners Montpellier Agglomeration HB secured a top two finish in Group B.

In the Pot 1 there will be winners of Group A, B and C and in the Pot 2 the three best second ranked teams. Two teams from the same group cannot face each other in the quarter-finals, but there will be no protection from teams from the same country.

The first leg matches will be played over 19/20 April on courts of the Pot 2 teams, the second leg is scheduled for 26/27 April on courts of the Pot 1 teams.

VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-finals Draw

The eight winners of the Last 16 ties will qualify for the VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-finals.

The winners of the pairings between fourth-ranked teams and group winners will be seeded in the Pot 1 and the winners of the encounters between second and third placed teams of the group phase will go to the Pot 2.

There will be no protection from teams from the same country or the same group of the group phase.

The first leg matches will be played over 16-20 April on courts of the Pot 2 teams, the second leg will follow on 23-27 April on courts of the Pot 1 teams.

Official VELUX EHF Champions League song to be released

Just before the quarter-finals draw a new official VELUX EHF Champions League song will be presented in Vienna. Read more information here

The handball fans will be able to follow both draws live on various channels. There will be a live streaming of the event on the ehfTV with a commentary of Tom O Brannagain, who will also interview all club managers right after the draw.

In addition, there will be a live ticker on www.eurohandball.com available and also a live coverage on the official Twitter channels - @ehfmedia (for the EHF Cup) and @ehfcl (for the VELUX EHF Champions League).
