Pots for the quarter-finals draw ready

After the completion of the Last 16 stage all four quarter-finals pairings of the VELUX EHF Champions League will be defined by a draw.

The joint event together with the Men’s EHF Cup Quarter-finals draw will start on Tuesday, 1 April 2014 at 12.15 hrs at the Gartenhotel Altmannsdorf 2 in Vienna. The EHF Cup draw will be followed by the European top flight's draw.

The eight winners of the Last 16 ties qualify for the VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-finals, the last tie between Rhein-Neckar Löwen and Vive Targi Kielce have been completed only less than 16 hours before the draw with Löwen taking the last spot..

The winners of the pairings between fourth-ranked teams and group winners will be seeded in the Pot 1 and the winners of the encounters between second and third placed teams of the group phase will go to the Pot 2.

There will be no protection from teams from the same country or the same group of the group phase.

Seeding for the VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-finals draw:

Pot 1: MKB-MVM Veszprém (HUN), THW Kiel (GER), FC Barcelona (ESP), HC Vardar Skopje (MKD)

Pot 2: Rhein-Neckar Löwen (GER), HC Metalurg (MKD), PSG Handball (FRA), SG Flensburg-Handewitt (GER)

The first leg matches will be played over 16-20 April on courts of the Pot 2 teams, the second leg will follow on 23-27 April on courts of the Pot 1 teams.

Official VELUX EHF Champions League song to be released

Just before the quarter-finals draw a new official VELUX EHF Champions League song will be presented in Vienna. Read more information here

Where to follow the draw event

The handball fans will be able to follow both draws live on various channels. There will be a live streaming of the event on ehfTV with a commentary of Tom O Brannagain, who will also interview all club managers right after the draw.

In addition, there will be a live ticker on www.eurohandball.com available and also a live coverage on the official Twitter channel - @ehfcl.
