Participants for Men's 20 EHF EURO confirmed

Over the past weekend 32 national teams from across Europe vied for qualification for the Men's 20 EHF EURO, taking place from 24 July to 3 August in Austria.

With Austria as hosts as well as Germany and Sweden as the teams ranked first and second at the Men's 18 EHF EURO 2012 already qualified, there were 13 spots remaining at the final tournament.

Following some hard fought games these 13 teams eventually were successful: Spain and Norway qualified from Qualification Group 1.

In Group 2 Denmark did not lose a single match, while only the goal difference saw Slovakia having the upper hand against Poland and Czech Republic as all three teams had lost two and won one match each.

Switzerland and Hungary were the two top ranked teams in Group 3 and thus secured their berths at the final tournament, while France and Belarus from Group 4 as well as Slovenia and Estonia from Group 5 qualified as well.

Only the first ranked team from Groups 6 to 8 qualified, and Israel, FYR Macedonia and Serbia were the three nations too strong for their respective opponents and consequently topping their groups.

The draw for the final tournament will take place on 24 April 2014 in Linz, Austria.
