Playing schedule for Men's 20 EHF EURO released

Eleven weeks out of the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2014, the playing schedule for the younger age category event, taking place from 24 July to 3 August, has been released.

Groups A and B will start their campaign in the HAKA-Arena of Traun, while Groups C, to which hosts Austria had been drawn, and D play the preliminary round in Linz's TIPS-Arena.

The tournament opens with the Group A and Group D encounters, Spain vs. FYR Macedonia and Sweden vs. Israel, which throw off at 14:00 hrs on 24 July respectively.

The first two teams of each group qualify for the main round which will also be played in Linz and Traun. The semi-finals and the final will be played in Linz.

Experienced hosts

The Men's 20 EHF EURO marks the fifth time Austria hosts a major European handball tournament, having previously hosted the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2005, the Men's 20 EHF EURO 2006, the Men's EHF EURO 2010 and the Men's 18 EHF EURO 2012.

For the duration of the upcoming event (from 24 July to 3 August) the Austrian Handball Federation expects 25,000 spectators attending the matches in the two hosting cities, Linz and Traun.
