Vugrinec to miss one match

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: EHF Court of Handball has suspended Metalurg right back for an unsportsmanlike conduct

Vugrinec to miss one match

The EHF Court of Handball has reached a decision following disciplinary proceedings against the player Renato Vugrinec from HC Metalurg.

The player insulted the EHF referees during the 2013/14 VELUX EHF Champions League Quarter-final (2nd leg): THW Kiel (GER) vs. HC Metalurg (MKD) which took place on 27 April 2014. The player was thus directly disqualified.

He will be suspended for the participation in the EHF club competitions for one (1) match, which mean he will miss the new season's opener of Metalurg at home against PSG Handball (24-28 September).

The fact that the Player Renato Vugrinec is sanctioned for such infringement in EHF competitions for the first time during his entire international career of many years was taken into consideration by the EHF Court of Handball as mitigating circumstance.

An appeal may be filed by the player and/or the club within seven days.
