Delegation leaders prepare for Women’s EHF EURO 2014Handball officials met in the Hungarian capital Budapest from Wednesday, 1 October through to Friday, 3 October in preparation for the Women’s EHF European Championship, which throws off on Sunday, 7 December 2014. The three-day conference was attended by the heads of the sixteen national teams playing in the EHF EURO. In attendance were officials and office staff of the European Handball Federation, as well as representatives from the two hosts, the Hungarian and Croatian Handball Federations.
A busy schedule for participants started with a visit to the Papp Laszlo Sports Arena in Budapest, venue for the final weekend of the championship, and continued to each of the preliminary and main round venues in both Hungary and Croatia. Participants were informed about all organisational matters related to the two-week event from media requirements through to anti-doping. The 11th edition of Europe’s flagship national team event will be played from 7 to 21 December 2014 in Györ, Debrecen and Budapest in Hungary and Varazdin, Osijek and Zagreb in Croatia. 16 nations will compete for the European title including: Group A - Hungary, Spain, Russia and Poland; Group B - Norway, Denmark, Romania and Ukraine; Group C - Sweden, Germany, Croatia and Netherlands; Group D - Montenegro, France, Serbia and Slovakia.
