Last 16 draw sends Mios to Switzerland, Havre to Belarus

NEWS REPORT: While the 2011 winners will make just a short trip to a neigbouring country, both the 2007 and 2012 holders have to plan much longer journeys for the Women's Challenge Cup Last 16.

Last 16 draw sends Mios to Switzerland, Havre to Belarus

Three former winners of the Women's Challenge Cup learned the names of their opponents in this season's Last 16 on Tuesday as the draw determined all eight pairings of the next stage. The draw was carried out by Michael Wiederer, EHF Secretary General at the EHF Office in Vienna.

The first leg matches are scheduled for 7/8 February, the second leg follows one week later.

The 2007 winners ZRK Naisa Nis from Serbia take on Icelandic Fram, while the 2011 trophy holders Union Mios Biganos-Begles face Yellow Winterthur from Switzerland and their French rivals HAC Havre, who replaced Mios on the Challenge Cup throne one year later, meet Gorodnichanka from Belarus.

One participant for the Last 16 will have to be found later, though, as the tie between KHF Kosova from Kosovo and RK Zelina from Croatia has had to be postponed due to lack of visa for the Kosovar team. The winner of this encounter will face Turkey's Ardesen GSK with Asli Iskit, who scored 22 goals in the two Round 3 matches against Polish side from Koszalin.
