Metalurg's Taleski to miss one game

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: EHF Court of Handball has suspended the player of Macedonian champions for the next match against PSG Handball.

Metalurg's Taleski to miss one game

The EHF Court of Handball has reached a decision following disciplinary proceedings against the player Filip Taleski of HC Metalurg.

Filip Taleski was directly disqualified within the last seconds of the 2014/15 VELUX EHF Champions League Group Phase (Round 6): HC Metalurg (MKD) vs. Naturhouse La Rioja for having prevented the execution of a throw-off after his team had scored (29:28).

The EHF Court of Handball finds that the attitude of the player was intentional, he ran back through the middle court and stopped with his arms raised in front of the opponent executing the throw-off.

The fact that few seconds were left when the referees whistled, as well as the fact that the goalkeeper of HC Metalurg was running back to his goal, lead the EHF Court of Handball to observe that Taleski precluded the possibility of the opposing team from the chance to take a last shot on an empty goal.

Such intentional behaviour committed to delay the execution of a throw-off to safeguard the score of the match deserves further sanctions.

Taleski is therefore suspended for one match, i.e. the match against Paris Saint-Germain Handball, taking place in Paris on 30 November 2014.

An appeal against the present decision shall not have any suspensive effects.
