Thüringer HC extends contracts with Snelder and HuberGerman Women’s EHF Champions League participants Thüringer HC have extended the contracts with two of their key players, German right wing Svenja Huber and Dutch international Danick Snelder. The news comes just a week before the German champions throw off their main round campaign with an away match at Slovenian side RK Krim Mercator on 31 January. For Snelder it is already her sixth season with the club. "As one of four players left who have one all our four national championships (2011 to 2014), she really lives for this club," says head coach Herber Müller on the official website. "Her discipline is outstanding and she has this will to achieve perfection in everything she does." Snelder, who was furthermore made the team’s captain last March, is equally happy about the extension: "I’m very glad that the team’s game suits me and I’m looking forward to continue to train so hard. In particular in the lead-up to the 2016 Olympics, that’ll be important." 29-year-old Huber only joined the club last year but is already a constant part of the starting seven. "I didn’t expect at all what happened in the past 12 months. Somehow I really took in the THC-gene." Thüringer HC are currently on two points in Main Round Group 1. After six rounds of matches, the first four teams of Groups 1 and 2 qualify for the quarter-finals in April. TEXT: THC news / EHF / ts |
