Hess ban upheld

The decision of the EHF Court of Appeal confirmed the two-match ban for Marcel Hess, imposed by the EHF Court of Handball on 13 January 2015.

The player and the club Pfadi Winterthur had filed an appeal against the decision of the EHF Court of Handball requesting the body of second instance to set aside the first instance decision or to alternatively impose a €400 (four hundred euro) fine on the player Marcel Hess.

The EHF Court of Appeal has rejected the appeal and confirmed the decision of the EHF Court of Handball, finding that the decision of first instance was adequate and proportionate to the behaviour of the player which led to his direct disqualification in the 52nd minute of the 2014/15 Men’s EHF Cup Qualification Round 3 (Leg 2) played on 30 November 2014 against the club HK AGRO Topolcany (SVK).

A recourse to the ECA is possible within 21 days but shall not have any suspensive effect.
