ROUND PREVIEW: Last 16 in the Men's Challenge Cup opens with four double-headers this weekend.


Half of the quarter-finalists will be known by Sunday

By Sunday evening, half of the quarter-finalists in the Men's Challenge Cup will already be known.

Four of the eight ties are being decided as double-headers this weekend, with the first leg of three of the ties taking place already on Friday.

In Kilkis, Greece, the local heroes from GAS Kilkis are taking on Ramat Hashron HC from Israel, the first match being on Friday night and the return match on Saturday evening.

Also Friday, the double-header between Handbal club Odorhei and Red Boys Differdange is starting. The Romanian team of Odorhei have the home advantage in the two matches against the red boys from Luxembourg, the first leg being played Friday evening, and the second to take place 24 hours later.

There will also be Challenge Cup handball in Norwegian Stord Friday and Saturday. While struggling at the bottom on the Norwegian league, Stord Handball have still made it to the Last 16 of the Challenge Cup, and in Stord Sportsenter they are taking on HC Radnicki from Serbia Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

The fourth and last double header this weekend is being played in Lisbon. In the Portuguese capital, SL Benfica are hosting HB Dudelange from Luxembourg with the first leg in the Pavilhao EDP Benfica Lisboa on Saturday evening, and the return match in the same venue on Sunday night.
