Court of Handball suspends Ardesen's Iskit for one game

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: The Turkish team will miss their player in the first leg of the Women's Challenge Cup Quarter-final against Pogon.

Ardesen's Iskit suspended for one game

The EHF Court of Handball has taken a decision following disciplinary proceedings against the player Asli Iskit of Ardesen GSK (TUR).

The player was disqualified within the last seconds of the 2014/2015 Women’s Challenge Cup Last 16 (2nd leg) match: RK Zelina (CRO) vs. Ardesen GSK (TUR) played on 15 February 2015 (aggregate result of 60:59 in favour of Ardesen GSK).

The player was coming from behind the opponent and strongly pushed the latter in the back. The EHF Court of Handball finds that such behaviour deserves further sanction since the intention of the player was only to prevent any chance to score in order to avoid a last shot on goal.

The player Asli Iskit is therefore not entitled to participate in the 2014/2015 Women’s Challenge Cup Quarter-final (1st leg): Ardesen GSK (TUR) vs. Pogon Baltica Szczecin (POL) taking place on 14 March 2015.

An appeal against the present decision shall not have any suspensive effects.
