Journey to Berlin leads through Vienna

NEWS REPORT: Six teams will learn the last hurdle on the way to the EHF Cup Finals in Berlin.

Journey to Berlin leads through Vienna

Following the conclusion of the Group Phase last weekend only seven teams can still dream of becoming the new Men's EHF Cup winners. While the EHF Cup Finals hosts Füchse Berlin qualified directly for the final tournament courtesy of their Group C win, six other teams will have to enter the last knockout round before the EHF Cup Finals.

Already on Tuesday 24 March at 10:45 hrs the six sides will be divided in three quarter-final pairings by the draw hosted by the Sky Studios in Vienna.

Draw procedure

In three steps the Pot 2 teams (the three best second ranked teams) - Velenje, Skjern and Eskilstuna will be drawn against the Pot 1 teams (winners of Group A, B, D) - Hamburg, Holstebro and Melsungen. The Pot 1 teams will host the first leg matches.

There will be no country protection for the two Danish teams, while the teams from the same group of this season's group phase cannot meet each other in the quarter-final.

The first quarter-final leg is scheduled for 11-12 April, the second leg will be played on 18-19 April. The three winning teams qualify for the 2015 EHF Cup Finals in Berlin (16-17 May).
