As close to action as never beforeThe season highlight of club handball, the VEUX EHF FINAL4 sets standards not only on the court and in terms of entertainment, but also when it comes to its TV production. 20 cameras are positioned inside the LANXESS arena – another two are mobile with camera teams that provide extra features for ehfTV.com and the competition’s TV partners – and produce pictures of a quality that will make the TV viewers feel as close to the event as never before. For the first time in-goal cameras will take pictures directly from inside the goals and pole cameras will enable the fans at home to watch the teams from the top during their timeouts. These two new camera angles have only been developed this season for the coverage of the VELUX EHF Champions League. The international TV production will also have access to the goal line technology, a system that has been in use at the two previous events, but to date only provided the referees with pictures if they were in doubt whether the ball had crossed the line.
Overall more than 60 people work on the international TV production. The 2014 VELUX EHF FINAL4 reached a cumulative audience of 68 million in 140 countries. Furthermore ehfTV.com streams all four matches live and on-demand and offers a range of features starting with the arrival of the teams right through to the winners’ celebrations on Sunday night. On Monday “Rewind – The Handball Show” will sum it all up and show the highlights of the 2015 VELUX EHF FINAL4. TEXT: EHF / ts |
