Job vacancy: Event Manager
EHF Marketing GmbH, the marketing arm of the European Handball Federation, is looking for an experienced Events Manager to join its team based in Vienna, Austria.
The successful candidate will work across the leading events in European club handball including the VELUX EHF FINAL4, Men’s EHF Cup and the Women’s EHF FINAL4.
Job specification
- Project planning, implementation and financial control of major international sports events
- Planning and implementation of events including workshops and draws
- Provide briefings and work closely with both internal and external partners
- Identify, negotiate with and oversee the work of external suppliers
Key experience
- Experience of working in a similar event management role
- Experience of working in an international environment, across different cultures and languages
- Qualifications and/or experience of working in a marketing-related role would be an advantage
Key competencies
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of event promotion and communications, especially social media
- Good MS Office knowledge
- High level of numeracy and experience of working with budgets
- Skills and experience of working with graphics software would be an advantage
- Quick to grasp new concepts with a structured approach to working
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to work and travel according to event schedules
- Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment
- Excellent written and spoken German and English
- An interest in or understanding of handball – a strong advantage
