Qualification tournament to be played in Banja Luka

The Borik sport hall in Banja Luka, Bosnia Herzegovina will see the first European top flight's action in the new season as the home club RK Borac has been confirmed to host the VELUX EHF Champions League Qualification tournament on 5-6 September.

Borac won the first right to organise the tournament at the June draw and following a thoroughful evaluation of the situation the EHF in co-operation with EHF Marketing GmbH confirmed the club as a tournament's host.

Bosnian champions will face Alpla HC Hard from Austria in the semi-final on 5 September, while Norwegian title holders Elverum Handball Herrer take on Dutch champions OCI-Lions in the other semi-final. The exact playing times will be announced in due time.

The winner of the Sunday's final (6 September) will join five other clubs in Group D of the VELUX EHF Champions League (HC Metlaurg, Skjern Handbold, HC Motor Zaporozhye, Kadetten Schaffhausen and HCM Baia Mare).

The second and third team of the tournament enter the Men's EHF Cup Qualification Round 3, while the fourth ranked team starts already in the Qualification Round 2 and will face the winner of the Round 1 match between HB Dudelange and Haslum Handballklubb.
