ROUND REVIEW: Three more teams ready for Round 3 of the Cup Winners' Cup

Three more teams qualified for Round 3 of the Women's Cup Winners' Cup this weekend, as one double-header and two return matches were played.

Back in September, WHC Radnicki Kragujevac did not manage to qualify for the Women's EHF Champions League, as they finished fourth and last in their qualification group.

However, the Serbian champions had absolutely no problems qualifying for Round 3 of the Cup Winners' Cup, as they met Jomi Salerno from Italy in a double-header on home court this weekend.

Already Saturday, Kragujevac made it all clear in the Sport Centar Mladost “Jezero”, as they won as big as 35:22.

And, as if that was not enough, they won the second leg in the same arena Sunday by no less than 26:8.

Ardesen GSK were five goal down after their visit to Sweden last weekend, where they lost 30:25 to Skuru IK.

However, the Turkish side did not have much trouble easing past their Swedish adversaries in front of 3500 spectators in the M.Y.O. Kapali Erdogan University Saturday evening.

Already at half time, Ardesen had more than caught up with Skuru´s five goal lead, as the hosts were leading 13:7 after the first 30 minutes.
In the second half, Ardesen increased their lead even further and booked a 32:20 win, which was, of course, more than enough for the third round ticket.

WHC Metalurg were already close to the next round after their 24:23 away win in the Netherlands against Westfriesland SEW last Saturday.

As it might be expected, the Macedonian team did not have any problems in the second leg in Skopje this Saturday.

Already at half time, Metalurg had actually decided the matter, leading 19:10, which meant that they could take it a bit easier in the second half and still book their third round ticket through a clear 33:26 win.

With ten goals, left back Dajana Jovanovska made her considerable contribution to the Metalurg win.
