31.10.2015, 10:25 GROUP C MATCH REVIEW: Györ wreaked havoc on Hypo’s defence on Halloween night as the Hungarian powerhouse cruised to a 29:21 victory |

Back to winning ways as Györ beat HypoThere are only 122 kilometers between Vienna and Györ but the difference between Hypo Niederösterreich and Györi Audi ETO KC was much bigger on Saturday night.
The Austrian champions were ahead only for a handful of seconds in the first part of the game as the Hungarian powerhouse were set to redeem themselves after last week’s painful defeat against FC Midtjylland. Györ’s plan worked out brilliantly. The Hungarian side came out guns blazing as Hypo only managed to score six times in the first half. With a stout defence that forced Hypo to commit seven technical faults and to post a lowly 29% shot efficiency, Györ had easy chances on the counterattack which converted into easy goals. As Ferenc Kovacs, Hypo’s coach, insisted to risk changing the goalkeeper with an outfield player in attack, Györ punished the decision with a flurry of counterattacks that caught centre Jennifer Thurner between the posts.
A 15:6 lead at halftime was the perfect argument for Ambros Martin, Györ’s coach, to tinker and experiment in the second half. Therefore, it was no surprise that every outfield player that represented Györ this Saturday managed to score at least one goal. Led by fresh-faced Linn Jorum Sulland, who scored four goals, Györ cruised to a 29:21 win as Alzbeta Tothova’s ten goals were insufficient for Hypo. As Hypo are heading towards their worst ever Women’s EHF Champions League season, with three defeats in as many matches and –33 goal difference, Györ jumps to the second place in the group before the clash between FC Midtjylland and HC Vardar.
