GROUP B

Fleury Loiret Handball (FRA) vs Thüringer HC (GER) 27-21 (10-12)

Although Fleury Loiret were considered heavy favourites to win the last game of the group phase (or the first of the main round) Thüringer suprised the home side by putting up a massive performance in the first 20 minutes.

Eliza Buceschi and Danick Snelder put the visitors out front as Fleury couldn’t find the rhythm, especially in attack.

The German wall did a great job and Thüringer mounted a five-goal lead before Gnonsiane Niombla inspired a sensational comeback for Fleury.

The back scored six goals to bring the home team back in the game.

It took Fleury 41 minutes to finally equalize but Jana Krause made some important saves and Thüringer re-claimed the lead.

It was a tense affair but when Alexandrina Cabral Barbosa and Julia Foggea, in goa,l rose to the level of the magnificent Niombla the margin started to grow for the French outfit, who cruised in to win the important clash.

Fleury who have four points with the victory are level with Larvik in the Main Round classification while Thüringer start the second stage with one point.
