Lithuania, Slovakia share points in World Championship QualificationAfter 60 hard-fought minutes in the game between Lithuania and Slovakia in the Men's World Championship 2017 Qualification on Thursday the score stood at 18:18 - but it remains to be seen whether it is a point lost or won for the two teams in Group 1. Three rounds have been played, and Lithuania have four points and are ranked second, while Slovakia have three points and are ranked third. Bosnia-Herzegovina are currently first in Group 1 and only the top-ranked team qualifies for the play-offs in June. Over the weekend, in Round 4, Slovakia welcome Lithuania, while Bosnia-Herzegovina play Kosovo at home. In Group 3 Latvia took their third win in their third match, beating Cyprus away 28:20, while Greece beat Ukraine in Kiev and are now on four points and ranked second. The return matches will take place on 10 January. All matches in Round 4 will take place on either 9 or 10 January. Rounds 5 and 6 will take place between 13 and 17 January 2016. TEXT: EHF / ts |
