MATCH REVIEW: Team Tvis Holstebro in Cup Winners' Cup semi-final despite narrow defeat in Viborg.


Viborg unable to catch up with Holstebro

Team Tvis Holstebro is the fourth and last team in the Women´s Cup Winners' Cup.

This became a fact Monday night, as the second leg of their Danish quarter-final tie against Viborg HK was played in Viborg Stadionhal.

Holstebro had an 11-goal lead with to the return match after winning the first first leg at home 25:14, and even though Viborg got an early three-goal lead and were leading throughout the second match, they were never really close to catching up with the 11-goal distance.

Viborg were leading 13:10 at half-time, and through most of the second half, they were leading by between one and four goals, but Holstebro's over all win never got in danger.

Danish internationals Ann Grete Nørgaard and Rikke Skov scored six goals each for Viborg, just like Jette Hansen and Annette Jensen did for the visitors.

In the semi-final, Team Tvis Holstebro are meeting Issy Paris Hand who qualified to due to more away goals in their tie with Hungarian Érd HC.
