Ystad's Nilsson suspended for one match

Ystad's Nilsson suspended for one match

The EHF Court of Handball has released a decision in disciplinary proceedings opened following the last minute red card received by Philip Nilsson at 59:58 minutes of the 2015/2016 Men’s EHF Cup Group Phase Round 6 match: Helvetia Anaitasuna (ESP) vs Ystads IF (SWE) which took place on 26 March 2016.

The player was directly disqualified for having refused to release the ball although a throw-in had been granted to the opposing team.

The EHF Court of Handball finds in substance that the player’s behaviour was intentional and committed solely with the intention to annihilate any offensive action in favour of the opponents during a decisive moment of the match.

The player is therefore not entitled to take part in the next EHF club competition match in which his club will participate.

An appeal may be filed with the EHF Court of Appeal within seven days.
