Playing times set for Women's EHF EURO

The European Handball Federation has confirmed the playing times for the Women's EHF EURO 2016, taking place in Sweden from 4 to 18 December.

The final on 18 December in the Scandinavium in Gothenburg will throw off at 18:00 hrs local time; the match for third place starts two and half hours earlier, at 15:30 hrs local time.

The general schedule for the preliminary round is 18:30 hrs for the day's first match and 20:45 hrs for the second. The only exception is the championship's first day, 4 December, on which the first game starts at 15:15 hrs, and the second, Sweden vs Spain which is the tournament's official opener, begins at 18:00 hrs.

The basic schedule for the main round is 16:15, 18:00 and 20:45 hrs and the matches will be assigned accordingly.

Fans can check the final tournament schedule for all timings.

At the final tournament draw on 10 June Sweden, Spain, Serbia and Slovenia were drawn to Group A; Netherlands, France, Germany and Poland make up Group B.

Group C consists of Montenegro, Hungary, Denmark and Czech Republic, while defending champions Norway,  alongside Russia, Romania and Croatia, play in Group D.

Group A is played in Stockholm, Group B in Kristianstad, Group C in Malmö and Group D in Helsingborg. For the main round the tournament moves to Gothenburg (Group I) and Helsingborg (Group II) and the final weekend takes place in Gothenburg.
