NEWS REPORT: The EHF will use Periscope and Facebook live to bring handball fans close to the draws for the first qualification phases of the Women's World Championship 2017 and the EHF EURO 2020


Friday's EHF EURO and World Championship draw will be streamed live

The European Handball Federation will stream Friday's draws for the first qualification phases to the Women's World Championship 2017 and the EHF EURO 2020 live using Periscope and Facebook live.

First up at 14:00 hrs is the draw for the Women's World Championship 2017 Qualification which will be streamed on Periscope.

15 teams are seeded for the World Championship draw:

  • Pot 1: Austria, Belarus, Iceland, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine
  • Pot 2: Italy, Lithuania, FYR Macedonia, Portugal and Switzerland
  • Pot 3: Faroe Islands, Greece, Israel and Kosovo

They are drawn into three groups of four teams each (Groups 1 to 3) and one group of three teams each (Group 4).

The first two teams from Groups 1 to 3 and the top ranked team from Group 4 qualify for the play-offs.

The coverage then heads to Facebook live for the EHF EURO 2020 Qualification draw.

Nine teams are seeded for the draw of the first qualification phase:

  • Pot 1: Turkey, Greece, Italy
  • Pot 2: Estonia, Luxembourg, Cyprus
  • Pot 3: Georgia, Faroe Islands, Kosovo

This first phase will be played in three groups of three teams each. The winners of each group will qualify for the second phase, the main EHF EURO 2020 Qualification.
