GROUP A

FC Barcelona Lassa (ESP) vs Kadetten Schaffhausen (SUI) 38:25 (21:12)

Barcelona had no problems cruising to a big win at home against Kadetten Schaffhausen who remain at the bottom of the league table in Group A, while Barcelona stays top of the group with four straight wins.

Barcelona decided the matter before half time

Due to good attacking performances, Schaffhausen were able to keep within one or two goals of Barcelona at the start of the high-scoring match.

However, it did not take Barcelona long to show their quality in the Palau Blaugrana this Wednesday night.

From 6:5, the home team went to 11:5 and later 20:10, practically deciding the matter before half time.

Pascual rotating his team

From the start, Barcelona coach Xavi Pascual rotated his players, using almost his entire bench, with the result that the 38 goals were shared by no less than 12 players.

However, no matter which players Barcelona had on the court, the home team were able to increase their lead at will throughout the match, having their biggest leads at 37:23 and 38:24.

Post-match comments

Xavi Pascual, FC Barcelona coach: "Today I’m so satisfied. We made a great game. Maybe we played the best first half of the current season. First half was amazing."

Lars Walther, Kadetten Schaffhausen coach: "They played a very good game. I’m not satisfied with the defence in the first half. 9% of saves is not enough to play vs Barca."
